North Goa (Baga, Calangute, Anjuna) is lively, with beach shacks, water sports, markets and nightlife. South Goa (Palolem, Agonda, Colva) is calmer, with wide empty beaches and quiet resorts. If you have 5 days or more, many people stay in both.
