Sikkim is small but the roads are winding, so plan at least 6 days. Most trips fly into Bagdogra, in West Bengal, and drive about 4 to 5 hours to Gangtok, the capital.
Gangtok has monasteries, cafés and a lively market street. From there, day trips go to Tsomgo (Changu) Lake and Baba Mandir. Pelling has close views of Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. Lachung and Yumthang Valley in the north are known for snow and alpine flowers.
